Shades of Gray (Part Nineteen)

Sylar grabs her wrist and pulls her back into the room, and closes the door. He pulls her closer and kisses her, until they end up on the bed. She stops and looks up at him. "Are you upset?" she asks.

"No." He continues kissing her, and she pushes against him again.

"Are you... happy?"

He stops and sits up. "I don't know. Worried, I guess..."

"You're worried that I'll slow you down! I knew it. You don't want me around anymore," she says angrily.

He takes her hand. "No. I'm worried about you. I don't want you to get hurt. Especially now."

Elle crawls up to the top of the bed and gets under the covers. Sylar does the same, and faces her. "I'm sorry you don't trust me..." he says quietly.

She slides her hand across his cheek and grins. "I do trust you. You're just unpredictable."

They fall asleep hand-in-hand, and when Sylar wakes up, he wraps Elle up in another blanket. She slowly turns to face him, opening only one eye. "Why are you up?" she groans.

"I'm going to get you some breakfast," he says as he slips on his shoe. "What do you want?"

"Some scrambled eggs would be nice... and coffee," she requests.

Sylar stands up and opens the door, smiling back at Elle. She blows him a kiss as he walks out into the hallway and shuts the door behind himself. "Please!" she yells.

Sylar goes down to the lobby and walks into a buffet. He grabs a couple plates and fills them with eggs, fruit, and plenty of toast. He goes to grab some coffee and stares down at his full hands. He sets the plates down on the table and makes the coffee. "How am I gonna...?" he whispers to himself. He picks up the plates and balances both on one arm, then holds both coffee mugs in one hand, gripping the handles with his fingers.

Meanwhile, Elle has gotten up, and is taking a quick shower. She starts crying (again), until she hears the door open. "Gabriel?"

He sighs deeply and sets everything down on the nightstand, and grabs a coffee. "How ya feelin'?"

She sniffs and smiles. "I'm feeling fine. Morning sickness hasn't kicked in quite yet."

Sylar shivers at the thought, and sips his steaming hot coffee. Elle finishes her shower and walks into the room, wearing only a towel and hotel slippers. She picks up a piece of toast and takes a bite. She chews on it, and her facial expression slowly changes. She drops it and runs for the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.

"Elle? Are you alright?" Sylar says as he runs for the bathroom door.

She leans over the toilet and tears drop into the water. "I can't do this, Gabe..."

He turns around and sits with his back against the door. "I'm here."

Shades of Gray (Part Eighteen)

Sylar's face gets pale instantly and he stands up, holding his hand over his mouth. Elle stands up and heads for the door. "Don't leave," he insists.

She picks up her purse and puts her hand on the doorknob. "If I don't, you'll kill me." She opens the door, and Sylar holds her back with telekinesis. "I'm not going to kill you, Elle."

He drops her and she turns around. "How do I know you won't do it when I'm sleeping? How can I trust you?"

"You've trusted me all this time. Why not now?"

She holds out her hands and raises her eyebrows. "Because you know I'll slow you down now! Why would you want me in your way?"

Shades of Gray (Part Seventeen)

Sylar makes it about five floors and stops. He falls to the floor and breathes deeply. "I'll have to... come back... some other day," he says to himself. He struggles back to his feet and heads back down the stairs. He hears some men yelling from the bottom of the staircase, and he turns around.

"Hold it right there."

The voice is chilling and familiar, and Sylar looks up to see who it is. "Bennet."

Noah walks down to Sylar and puts his hand on his gun. "What do you want with Bishop?"

"Why do you need to know? She's not part of your little company anymore," Sylar growls.

"We can't have you killing her. She's valuable."

"Valuable? How is she valuable to you?"

Sylar turns to face the two guards coming up the stairs. He holds out his hand and sends them flying back down. When he turns around, Noah is gone.

"Wow, this pizza's fantastic," Elle grins as she shoves a handful of chips into her mouth.

"Are you always this hungry?" Mohinder asks, with a disgusted look on his face.

Elle smiles and takes a gulp of her beer. "Yes. Why's that so shocking?"

"You're so... tiny."

She laughs and wipes her hands. "I just have a big appetite. That's all."

Mohinder smiles and drinks his beer. Elle looks down at the table and frowns, pushing aside her plate of food.

"Is something wrong?" he asks.

"I still feel kind of sick... I'm gonna head to bed." She smiles at him. "Thanks for dinner."

Elle stands up, goes to her room, and lies down. She stares sadly at the ceiling and starts thinking about Sylar. She sighs and closes her eyes, drifting into a deep sleep.

In the middle of the night, the door slams open, and Elle sits up almost simultaneously. Mohinder jumps out of bed and grabs the gun sitting on his nightstand. He backs up to the door and slowly pushes it open.

"Mohinder?" Elle yells.

He ignores her and pokes his head out the door, to see his front door wide open. Elle gets out of bed and wraps herself up in a sweatshirt. She cautiously opens the door and looks around.

"Elle," a voice whispers from her bathroom.

"Mohinder?"

She turns around and slowly makes her way to the bathroom. She pushes the door open and sees a tall man standing at her mirror.

"Sylar?" she says carefully.

She can see a smile form on his dark face, and he steps into the light coming from the hall. He takes her hands and kisses her, and she smiles. "You came back," she says gleefully.

"Of course I did." He kisses her again.

Mohinder walks into the main room and looks around. "Elle?" He walks into her room to see no one there, and notices that all of her things are missing. He throws the gun at the wall angrily and sits at his desk. "How does he do that?" he yells.

Elle and Sylar walk down the street, holding hands. Elle remains silent, and Sylar begins to worry. "Elle, is something wrong?"

She shakes her head. "I think I'm sick."

He frowns. "Do you need some medicine?"

"I probably should get something... just in case." She looks down the street and sees a small store with the lights on. "Give me some cash and I'll go get it. You get us a taxi." She holds out her hand.

Sylar reaches in his pocket and pulls out twenty bucks, and hands it to her. "Are you sure you don't just want me to get it?"

She smiles. "I'm fine. I'll do it."

Sylar smiles and kisses her cheek. She walks into the store and grabs a couple bottles of medicine, and goes to check out. She stops and looks at one of the dirty shelves, and holds out her hand to pick up a pregnancy test. She stops herself and shakes her head in disbelief. Before walking away, she sighs and throws it into her basket.

"Good evening," the clerk says nicely as she checks her out. "$18.95."

She hands her the bill and smiles. "Thanks. Keep the change."

Before leaving the store, Elle takes the test out of the bag and shoves it in her pocket. She hurries over to Sylar, who's waiting at a cab.

"Was that enough?"

"Perfect," she says as she hops in the taxi. "So, are we staying at a hotel?"

"Yeah. But a nice one. Unlike the motel in Mexico."

They go to the hotel and take the elevator up to their room. Sylar lays down on the bed and Elle walks into the bathroom, and locks the door behind her. She empties out the medicine onto the counter and stares at herself in the mirror. She slowly reaches into her pocket and pulls out the pregnancy test.

"This is silly," she whispers to herself.

She takes the test and sits on the toilet lid, furiously shaking the stick.

"Are you okay?" Sylar yells from the bedroom, where he's watching TV.

She gulps and nods. "Yes, sweetie. I'm fine," she lies.

Elle stares at the test as the image starts to develop, and throws her hand over her mouth, trying not to let out a gasp. She throws it into the trash can and covers it with tissues and the plastic bag. She opens the door and sits down next to Sylar on the bed, frowning.

"Are you sure you're feeling alright?" he asks worriedly.

"No," Elle grunts as a tear rolls down her cheek.

He turns to face her and takes her arms. "What's wrong, Elle?"

She shakes her head and squints, trying to hold in the tears.

"Elle. You need to tell me what's wrong," he demands.

"I'm so so sorry..."

"What is it? I won't be mad," he promises.

"I'm pregnant."

Shades of Gray (Part Sixteen)

Sylar squeezes Elle's arms and moves his face closer to hers. "Elle. Listen to me. You've made me happier than I've ever been. Why would I leave you?"

She gives a faint smile and looks at the ground. "Please. Don't get hurt."

He laughs. "Me? I'll be fine, Elle. So will you." He kisses her and smiles. "I love you, honey. You have to get somewhere safe. I'll meet you there."

Elle makes her way quickly down the stairs, forcing herself not to look back at Sylar. She runs into the street and hurries into an alley, where she stops to catch her breath. She swallows hard as tears start to roll down her cheeks, and she pushes her hair out of her face.

Meanwhile, Sylar is on his way to where he believes Noah is, still thinking about Elle. He slows down and walks into an alley, and sits against the wall. "I can't do this," he whispers to himself. He looks out across the street and sighs, realizing that he needs Elle. He needs her.

Elle wipes the tears of her face and walks back into the street, avoiding any place she can easily be seen. She hurries to a taxi and jumps in.

"Where to?" he asks kindly.

"Anywhere but here," she responds. She looks into the mirror and recognizes who she's with. "Mohinder?"

He turns around. "Elle?"

She smiles. "You're a taxi driver?"

He frowns and points at the door. "Get out of my taxi," he demands.

"Oh, Mo! Don't be mad at me! It wasn't my fault you broke your nose..." she jokes.

He rolls his eyes and turns around. "What're you doing in the city?"

"Oh, you're going to try and make small talk? I can play this game... I'm here with my boyfriend."

He sighs. "Oh. That's nice."

"His name is Gabriel. Gabriel Sylar," she says happily.

Mohinder turns around and gasps. "Sylar? You're joking."

"Do you really think I'd joke about something like that?" She rubs her eyes and sniffs. "He loves me, I love him. That's how it's supposed to work, right?"

Mohinder turns back around and starts driving. They remain silent for a few minutes, and then he starts back up again. "Aren't you nervous... that you'll upset him or something?"

She laughs. "I'm a risky girl."

"Has he ever done anything to you? Has he hurt you?"

"He almost killed me once..." She giggles. "He couldn't do it. Now we get along just peachy."

Mohinder pauses, then fixes his mirror. "Why were you crying, then?"

She bites her lip. "Because he left me."

Mohinder laughs. "I thought you just said you were in love with each other...?"

"Not like that. He left so he could go kill Bennet. He wanted me somewhere safe," she says.

Mohinder thinks about her situation and smirks. "Elle, how would you like to stay with me? I mean, at least until he's back and Noah's dead."

She smiles. "Thank you so much!"

"Do you need anything before we go?"

"As long as you have food, I'm fine. Thank you so much, Mohinder," she repeats.

Mohinder drives her back to his apartment and they walk in.

Sylar stands in front of a building and looks up it angrily. He slowly walks inside, where several guards attempt to push him back through the doors. He uses TK to knock them to the floor, and he continues on to the front desk. He throws his hands on the counter and scowls at the twerp sitting behind it. "Where's Bennet?"

The kid gulps and straightens himself. "Bennet...?"

"I know you know where he is. So you either point me in the right direction, or I spill your insignificant brains all across the floor," he threatens.

He lifts his shaky hand and points at the elevator. "Take it to the roof."

Sylar places his hand firmly on his shoulder and shakes it gently. "Nice choice," he says before walking to the elevator.

The kid lifts up a pile of papers and reaches for a button programmed to call security. Sylar turns around and holds up his hand. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," he yells.

Ignoring his request, he hits the button, setting off all the alarms in the building. Sylar repeatedly pushes the elevator button, and moans. He turns around and holds up his finger. "Wrong decision, kid." He slices open his forehead, and he slides off the chair and onto the floor. Sylar heads for the stairs just as several guards run into the lobby.

"What a mess," Elle says as she knocks some papers off the bed. "How long's it been since you stayed here?"

"Quite a while, actually," Mohinder responds.

Elle tosses her bag on the bed and sits down. "Where do you sleep?"

"In the other room. That was Molly's bed..." he says sadly.

"Molly?"

"She was... Matt Parkman and I cared for her. She was like a daughter to me," he sighs.

"And what happened to this... Molly?" Elle smirks.

"Matt took her. He and his wife have her now."

Elle lays down and looks at the ceiling. She inhales deeply and rubs her forehead. "I don't feel well... Do you have any medicine?"

Mohinder sits down at his computer and looks over at her. "You do look a little green. I don't think I have anything, though. Sorry."

Elle stands up and sprints to the bathroom. She slams the door and doesn't come back out for about ten minutes.

"Elle, are you okay?"

She curls up on the bed and sighs. "I feel better now. But I just barfed my brains out."

"Okay, too much information. Just let me know if you need anything. I can run to the store," he offers.

"I'm starving..." She sits up. "Can you order some pizza or something?"

Mohinder grabs the phone and a piece of paper. "Sure. What do you want on it?"

"Ooh, I'm in the mood for sausage and mushrooms," she says happily.

Shades of Gray (Part Fifteen)

"So, what do you want to do?" Sylar snaps.

Elle moans and sits down. Sylar turns around and rubs his forehead in frustration, and Elle notices something on the back of his head. She quickly realizes someone is aiming their gun at him, and she stands up and pushes him to the ground. The bullet destroys a lamp on the other side of the room, and Sylar flips onto his back and raises his eyebrows at Elle.

"How'd you..?"

Elle pulls him up by his shirt and grabs his hand. "We need to get out of here. We need to leave now," she commands.

They run out of the apartment and half way down the hall, until Sylar grabs her arms and holds her still. "Elle. Elle, you need to calm down," he insists.

"But... But I can't! He almost just blew your brains out. How can you be calm?"

Sylar stares into her eyes and tightly grips her arms. "I will protect you."

Elle looks innocently back up at him and wiggles her arms free of his grasp. "Why do you care about me? I'm an awful person, Gabriel. How can you love me?"

"I'm a monster. A monster. You're perfection. Yes, you can do and have done bad things, but that's one of the reasons I love you." he says as he rubs a tear off her cheek. He leans in and kisses her, and she closes her eyes tightly.

"What should we do? We can't stay here," Elle worries.

Sylar takes her hand and they run to the stairwell. "I need to get you somewhere safe... And then I'll come back to get Bennet," Sylar says quietly.

"You can't leave me, though! You can't leave me. I'll come with you," Elle begs.

Sylar shakes his head, frowning. "I can't see you get hurt."

"But how do I know you'll come back for me? How do I know you won't just leave... You might want your freedom back."

Taking a Break

I'm taking a break from "Shades of Gray". At least for a few minutes...

Tomorrow, I'm going to see Jason Mraz in concert. I can't wait! I've been listening to his music non-stop, and am so psyched that I get to see him in person.

I've developed this odd liking for Kristen Bell. I watched about five interviews with her today, and she was absolutely hysterical.

Anyway. I'm bored. Probably going to go back and write some more Shades of Gray in a few... After I put my blog link on Youtube. Maybe that'll get me some followers!

Shades of Gray (Part Fourteen)

Elle and Sylar get dressed and meet up in the kitchen. Elle's wearing a purple halter top and white shorts. Sylar's wearing jeans and a black tank top.

"You look... hot," Elle says, as she grabs his arms.

"You look gorgeous," he responds.

Elle looks up and down his muscular arms, smiling widely. "You're always wearing long-sleeved shirts. I didn't know you were so buff."

"You always look great..." Sylar grins.

Elle kisses him and he kisses back, until they're making out. He pushes her against the door and puts his hand on the wall. He continues kissing her until someone knocks on the door. Elle turns around, smiling, and opens it. She gasps. "Peter?"

He holds his hand against the door to hold it back. "Elle, I'm not here to turn you in." He looks at Sylar. "You're still together, I see?"

Sylar holds up his finger and gives Peter an evil look. "Get out or your brains spill on the floor," he threatens.

Peter backs up a bit. "I'm sorry to intrude. I just wanted to warn you."

Elle frowns. "Why?"

"Noah's coming after you. He wants to lock you both up. Well, the company does," he explains, "I'm sorry, once again, to just barge in like this. I didn't have any way to contact you."

"Do you really think we needed to be warned?" Sylar asks, "We're murderers. We don't need your help, Petrelli."

Elle smirks and shuts the door, and Peter turns around and walks away.

"Do you think he was telling the truth?" Elle asks Sylar.

"Probably. But we don't have to worry about Bennet. He's too soft."

Elle shakes her head. "I think you're wrong. He's killed people he didn't want to... He's erased his wife's memories countless times. He even sacrificed his daughter to Primatech for experiments. I'm pretty sure he'd be okay with killing a couple of monsters like us."

Shades of Gray (Part Thirteen)

After Sylar gets up, he begins to make some coffee, and Elle walks out in his bathrobe.

"Elle. I want to talk with you about something..."

She puts her chin on his shoulder and smiles. "What is it, baby?"

He turns around and looks at her. "I don't want you to call me Sylar anymore," he says.

Elle looks at him confusedly and laughs. "Why not? What should I call you?"

"Gabriel. I love you enough to let you call me that, and I think you should. Sylar isn't really a name. It's just something to cover up my true identity... And I don't want to be a lie anymore. At least not to you."

Elle takes his hands and kisses him. "I'm so glad you feel that way," she says happily, "I love you, too."

Shades of Gray (Part Twelve)

"Hey, I know it's been a crazy day... But do you want to go get dinner? I don't have much food here, and I feel like you deserve a nice meal," Sylar suggests.

Elle grabs his cheeks and kisses him. "That'd be really nice."

Sylar smiles and stands up, and walks into his bedroom. "Be right out."

"Where are you going?" she asks.

"I need to get changed." He closes the door behind him and Elle giggles to herself.
Sylar walks out a few minutes later, wearing a striped blue button-down, khakis, and his hair slicked back. He holds out his arms and laughs. "What do you think?"

Elle gasps and runs over to him, and she hugs him tightly. "You look fantastic! So cute!" she swoons.

Sylar kisses the top of her head and takes her hand. "Shall we?"

They get a taxi and go to a big, fancy restaurant. As they walk in, Sylar's hands begin to sweat.

"What's wrong, sweetie?" Elle asks worriedly.

Sylar shakes his head and laughs to himself. "I just haven't been on a date in a while, that's all."

She takes his hand and they walk in and sit down. They place their order and stare at each other, grinning. Elle holds his hands over the table, until she starts to sip her drink. Sylar's smile starts to fade and she notices.

"Are you sure everything is okay? You're acting very nervous. You're worrying me," Elle says.

Sylar gives a fake smile and rubs his forehead. "I have this weird feeling... you know... that I'm going to ruin everything. I haven't been on a date in so long I've forgotten how to act... what to say," he explains.

Elle smiles. "Guess what? I'm 24 years old and have never been on a date before. Never. I learned all I know from movies and television. You have no need to be nervous."

Sylar smiles and kisses her over the table. When their food arrives, Elle digs in immediately, and acts as if she hasn't eaten in weeks. Sylar watches her curiously as she scarfs down a plate-full of pasta, and chugs her wine, and crunches on the bread sitting in the middle of the table. Sylar slowly eats his meal, and never takes his eyes off of her.

She laughs. "What is it? Am I grossing you out?"

Sylar shakes his head, smiling. "No, no. Not at all. I'm just surprised you can eat that much and still be so skinny," he jokes.

"You're not really eating at all. Are you not hungry? You haven't eaten in days."

Sylar smiles. "Do you want to get out of this place? I'd rather be at a bar or something."

Elle nods happily. "That sounds much better."

They pay for their meal and hop in a taxi again, looking around for a nice bar to get a drink at. Elle points one out and they walk in.

"Are you sure about this place?" Sylar asks, in a slightly disgusted tone.

"Of course. I've been here a million times before," Elle says confidently.

Sylar sits down at the counter and Elle next to him, and she quickly orders a drink. He asks for just a water, and just as the bartender walks away, Elle gives him a shocked look.

He laughs. "What?"

Elle smiles and hits his shoulder jokingly. "You got a water at a bar! You don't drink booze?"

"Not really, no. I'm more of a coffee person," he replies.

Elle shakes her head, smiling, and holds up her fingers. "We'd like to change our order over here!"

The bartender walks back over and nods. "What would you like?" he asks.

Elle grins at Sylar, and he rolls his eyes. "I'll have what she's having."

The bartender raises his eyebrows. "Are you sure? That's our strongest drink."

Sylar tilts his head curiously. "What makes you think I can't handle what she can handle?"

The guy laughs and goes to fix their drinks. Elle smiles and kisses his cheek. "Good boy."

A few moments later, they get their drinks, and Sylar stares at his drink with disgust.

"What is it?" Elle asks as she lifts her drink.

"It's pink. You made me order a chick's drink..."

"Just try it," she demands.

Sylar picks up the drink cautiously, and takes a sip. Elle continues smiling at him as he starts to take bigger sips, and then takes a gulp. She laughs when he squints and shakes his head in shock.

"That is strong," he squeaks.

They both finish their drinks quickly, and keep ordering them. They start to get loopy until Sylar checks the time. He grabs her arm and points at his watch. "Late" is all he manages to get out. They head back to his apartment and fall asleep on the couch together.

In the morning, Sylar opens his eyes to see Elle curled up right next to him. Her arms are laying on top of his chest, and her hair is covering her face. He picks up his hand carefully and pushes it out of her eyes and smiles at her beauty. One of her eyes open and her lips curl.

"Good morning, sleepy-head," he says quietly.

"What happened last night?" she moans.

"We went to a bar... That's about all I can remember."

Elle looks at her arm and then follows Sylar's chest up to his face. She touches his feet with her toes and giggles. "I've never done anything like this before. Never just laid with someone and talked..." she sighs.

Shades of Gray (Part Eleven)

Elle and Sylar hurry back to his apartment and sit next to each other on the couch.

"I'm really sorry that upset you. I'm being honest. I love you, not him," Elle explains.

Sylar grins when he doesn't "tingle". "You're telling the truth."

Elle kisses him and is happy when she can feel his lips curl beneath hers. She puts her hands in his hair and keeps kissing him, as he wraps his fingers around her arms. She takes a breath and opens her eyes, with a grin from ear-to-ear. "I love you."

Sylar smiles back and runs his fingers through her hair. "Elle?" He kisses her. "Why did you call me Gabriel earlier?" Elle stops for a moment and the grin leaves her face. "Because that's your name." She laughs. "Sylar is kind of ugly."

He laughs and continues kissing her. "Do you think we'll last?"

"Of course we will, baby. We're perfect for each other."

Shades of Gray (Part Ten)

Sylar continues using his ability to pinpoint Noah's position, and as his volume increases, so does Sylar's speed. Elle clings onto his arm and looks frantically for Peter Petrelli, hoping not to spot him. Sylar stops and looks at her.

"Is something wrong?"

She shakes her head. "No."

Sylar gets that familiar tingling sensation and gives a smug grin. "Why are you lying to me?"

Elle looks at the ground, remembering that Sylar is a living lie-detector. She looks back up sadly. "I'm sorry. But Peter and I... I just don't want to see him."

Sylar's eyes get weaker, and Elle realizes that he is truly in love with her. "Don't feel bad. It was a while ago. And it was just to get him to take some pills," she grins. "I never loved him."

Sylar starts walking again, now with his hand in Elle's. He turns down a street and sees a shady man standing near a sign. "Bennet," he hisses.

They pick up speed, but remain hidden, until someone grabs Elle's shoulder. She gasps and turns around. "Peter?"

Sylar uses his power to throw him into a newspaper stand, sending papers flying everywhere. Peter quickly stands up and holds up his hand nervously. "I'm not here to hurt you," he promises.

Elle stands in a shadow, covering her mouth. Peter glances over at her strangely. "What are you doing with him?"

Sylar holds up his hand threateningly, and Peter walks forward slowly. "You're working together?" Peter asks. "That's it, right?"

Elle lowers her hand and shakes her head sadly.

Peter looks at Sylar angrily. "You're holding her captive?"

Elle smiles. "We're together, Pete." She walks up to him confidently, "We're in love."

Peter backs up, with a shocked look on his face. A grin spreads across Sylar's face as fear spreads across Peter's. Suddenly, someone grabs Elle, but before she has the chance to scream, he covers her mouth. Sylar quickly notices, and runs after the man, whose face he's yet to see.

"I'll kill you!" he yells, "Let go of her!"

He holds out his hand and knocks him down with TK (telekinesis) and runs to pick Elle up. The man instantly stands up, and runs away. Sylar knows he could've caught him, but is much more worried about Elle.

"I'm so sorry I had to do that. I couldn't catch up," he says quietly.

She smiles up at him, her eyes still closed, and takes his hand. "You saved my life."

"Who was that?"

Elle rubs her forehead. "That was Bennet," she groans. "And it's all my fault that we didn't catch him."

Sylar pushes back her hair and smiles. "No it wasn't. Don't say that." He kisses her and she laughs.

"God, I love you."

Peter walks over cautiously, and Sylar turns around. "What do you want?" he grunts.

Peter looks down at Elle. "Is she okay?"

Elle stands up and brushes herself off. "I'm just dandy, Peter. No need to worry about me," she growls.

Peter nods and walks away in the opposite direction, but Elle stops him by zapping his back lightly. He turns around angrily. "What is it?"

"Aren't you going to apologize?"

He squints, confused. "For what?"

She laughs. "For everything, Pete. You made me believe you loved me... And then you left me to suffer."

Sylar looks at Elle sadly, and then furiously at Peter. "We need to leave, Elle."

"I'm sorry. I didn't know I upset you," Peter says, and then flies away.

Elle looks at Sylar, who's eyes have gotten red. "I thought you said you didn't love him."

"I didn't. I was... I was hopeless then. I could've fallen for a trash can at that point," she jokes.

"So you admit. You did love him."

Elle shakes her head. "You're the only man I've ever loved, Gabriel."

Shades of Gray (Part Nine)

As Elle takes her shower, Sylar gets dressed and cleans up his apartment (using telekinesis, of course!). She finishes up and walks out, wearing a short blue dress and a flower in her hair. Sylar stands up and smiles as she twirls the ends of her hair.

"Where'd you get the flower?" he asks, smiling widely.

Elle walks over and stands in front of him, and he places his hands on her hips. She wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him, and feels him smile beneath her lips. She smiles back and lets go.

"What do we have to do today?" Elle asks. She picks up her purse and takes out her lip gloss, and smears it over her lips.

"Nothing," he smiles.

She puts her lip gloss back in her purse and holds out her hand. "Let's go for a walk."

He steps forward, taking her hand, and they go out. They get to the street and walk hand-in-hand until Elle sees a small restaurant across the street.

"Let's go to breakfast!" she exclaims.

Sylar laughs. "That place closed forever ago..."

She frowns. "Why? It's so cute! And it looks open to me!"

"I killed the owner of that restaurant. No one took over," he smirks.

Elle smiles up at him and plays with his hair. "Where do you suggest we go?"

"Wherever you want," he says after kissing her.

Elle grins up at him silently, and puts her hand on his arm.

"What?"

"I haven't seen you this happy in a long time. I didn't realize how much I missed it."

Elle kisses his cheek and they keep walking, until Sylar stops her and looks down the road.

"What is it?" Elle asks, in a worried tone.

Sylar frowns and looks around. "It's Bennet. He's here."

"How do you know? How could you possibly know?" Elle questions suspiciously.

"I just heard someone say his name... And I recognized their voice, too. It may have been the Petrelli kid."

"Peter?"

Sylar nods. "Yes. It's definitely him." He lets go of Elle's hand and starts walking forward.

"Hey!" she yells.

He ignores her and keeps walking. Elle runs up to him and takes his arm. "We're in this together, okay?"

"I don't want you to get hurt... I care about you too much."

She kisses him and holds on for a few seconds, closing her eyes tightly. "You need to trust me."

Shades of Gray (Part Eight)

In the middle of night, when she's certain Sylar is asleep, Elle takes off the blankets and sits up. She hears something creak in his bedroom and he walks out, wrapping himself up in a bathrobe.

"Is something wrong?" he grunts.

"How in the world did you hear that?"

He shakes his head and smiles. "I can hear everything, remember?"

She smiles as he sits down next to her. She looks at the ground and frowns.

"There is something wrong..." he notices.

Elle looks up at him and her eyes get watery. He kisses her and stands back up. "I'm sorry for whatever it is I did to upset you. But you need some rest. So you have to let it go... at least for tonight."

She laughs and stands up. "I'm not upset with you about anything. I'm just... I'm actually upset about something I did," she explains.

"And what's that?"

"I probably shouldn't tell you. You'll end up killing me or something awful like that."

He takes her hand firmly. "Tell me," he demands.

"I... fell in love."

He let's go and tilts his head curiously. "With...?"

She hesitates and looks away. He puts his hand softly under her chin and turns her so she's facing him. "With?"

"You."

She puts her hands on his shoulders and gets on her toes, staring into his eyes. He wraps his long arms around her stomach and leans in close. They both smile and their eyes close, until their lips are touching. Elle kisses him over and over again, until they're sitting back on the couch. Sylar moves his hands up and down her back, and Elle puts her petite hands on his cheeks. They lay down, still holding each other and kissing.

... In the morning, Sylar and Elle wake up on the floor, underneath pillows and blankets. Elle's arm is draped over his bare chest, and Sylar has his foot wrapped around hers. He turns over and smiles at her, running his fingers through her long hair. She smiles back and kisses him once more before standing up and grabbing his bathrobe.

"Where are you going?" Sylar asks quietly.

"To take a shower." She ties up the bathrobe and looks down at him as he reaches for a pair of sweatpants that are laying on the floor.

Shades of Gray (Part Seven)

For the entire flight, Elle keeps her hand in Sylar's. The smile never leaves his face, even when she falls asleep on his shoulder. The plane lands, and Sylar gently wakes her up.

"We're home." He smiles. "It's over."

Elle sits up straight and smiles at Sylar. "It's so nice to see you smile again," she says quietly.

Sylar stands up and grabs Elle's bags out of the bin, and throws his on his shoulder.

"You don't have to do that... I can take care of my own things," Elle says.

Sylar ignores her and takes her hand, and they walk off the plane. They get a taxi and head back to his apartment, which he hasn't been in for months. He drops their things on the counter and grabs some blankets from the closet.

"What, you're not gonna talk?" Elle asks, in an annoyed tone.

He puts his blankets on the couch and walks back over to her. She smiles as he pushes a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear.

"I take it I'm sleeping on the couch?"

Sylar unfolds the blankets and sits down. "You can have the bed."

She laughs. "No, no. It's your place. Let me take the couch," she insists.

He lays down and laughs. "Or we could share the bed..." he says, sarcastically.

Elle smiles. "Okay."

Sylar sits up, shocked. "I was kidding!"

"I know. But I wasn't."

He sits up and looks at her curiously. "You really think this could work...?"

"Actually, I do," she says confidently, "We've both killed people, we both work for the same company, and we're always together. We can make it work."

He laughs at the thought, and stands up. "Well, if you really insist, you can take the couch."

He walks into the room and shuts the door. Elle lays down and wraps herself in blankets, and sighs sadly, wishing she could be with him.

Shades of Gray (Part Six)

Sylar looks back at Elle and smiles. He takes his hands away and wraps his arm around her shoulder, and they get on the plane. As they take off, Elle starts to get nervous. Her hands begin sparking and Sylar takes her hand, causing some of his skin to burn off.

"Calm down," he says quietly, squeezing her delicate hand.

She closes her eyes and grips her arm rest tightly, sending a series of sparks to travel through the metal. The plane's lights flicker and it drops a few feet. Some of the flight attendants grab for the nearest seats, and Sylar uncrosses his legs so they're both on the floor.

"Elle, you need to stop," he begs, "We're going to crash."

She squints even tighter and a tear rolls down her cheek.

The plane dips a little bit again, and a few people gasp. Now Sylar is facing Elle, holding her cheeks.

"Elle! Elle, I..."

She opens her eyes and her jaw drops.

"I can't do this," she whispers.

Sylar looks at her and his eyes soften.

"We can't die now," he says quietly.

"Why not?"

Sylar kisses her, and the lights come back on.

"Because... I love you."

Elle let's go of the arm rest and wraps her arms tightly around Sylar. He hugs back, smiling widely.

Shades of Gray (Part Five)

Sylar and Elle wait in the airport at their gate. Elle sits across from him and smiles.

"What?" he growls.

"I miss seeing you smile."

He looks at the ground and frowns. "When did you ever see me smile?"

"When I was trying to catch you. You were a genuinely happy person when we were together."

The corner of Sylar's mouth curls slightly, and Elle laughs. An announcement comes on and Elle stands up, grabbing her bags. Sylar follows her, thinking hard about when he was happy. Elle takes his hand and is surprised when he doesn't pull away. He looks up at her and smiles.

"I'm sorry," he says quietly.

Elle smiles. "What about?"

"Everything I've ever done to hurt you. I hate being the person I am."

Elle's smile quickly turns into a frown and she stops walking. She stands in front of him and looks up, into his deep eyes, and realizes she's fallen in love with him. She takes his hands and smiles.

Shades of Gray (Part Four)

Elle and Sylar arrive at the airport and he runs to the counter to purchase tickets.

"I need two plane tickets to New York," he says quietly and cautiously, suspecting that Noah could be nearby.

"I'm sorry, sir. Mi english no es..." she begins.

Elle walks over and hits the counter with her fists. "Dos, por favor. Nueva York."

The woman looks at her, confused, and then back at Sylar. "Nueva York? Hoy?"

Elle rolls her eyes and starts talking again. "Si. Hoy," she responds.

The woman looks at her computer screen, clicking furiously at her mouse. She looks sadly up at Sylar, and then at Elle, who's is impatiently clicking her nails.

"Uh, como se dice...? Uh, no tickets available?" she struggles to spit out.

Sylar's eyes somehow become darker, his subtle frown turning into a scowl, and he clenches his fists under the counter. Elle notices his discomfort and takes his hand carefully, then looks up.

"We need those tickets. Um... Necesitamos. Por favor?"

The woman shakes her head after checking her computer again. Sylar begins to lose control of his anger, and squeezes Elle's small hand. She tries to pull it away, but he just tightens his grip. Now she's in pain.

"Let go," she whispers.

He stares angrily at the woman, then lifts his hand and begins to choke her (using telekinesis). Elle gasps and grabs his arm to pull it down, but he resists. The woman scratches at her neck and fear fills her eyes as her feet leave the ground.

"We really need those tickets," Sylar orders, as a smile forms on his face.

Elle stops hitting him and puts her hand on his cheek. He turns and looks at her, and the smile leaves his face again. His hand loosens and he keeps staring into Elle's eyes. The woman drops to the ground and passes out.

"Good boy," Elle jokes.

Sylar smiles as Elle removes her hand from his cheek. Elle walks over and helps the woman up, also grabbing the papers she knocked off of her desk.

"Are you okay?" she asks quietly.

"That man..." She looks up at Sylar. "He tried to kill me..."

Elle laughs. "You fell and hit your head. He only wanted to make sure you were okay."

"But... But, he did. He levitated me... Right off the ground! And he was choking me." The woman realizes how crazy what she's saying sounds, and rubs her forehead. "Sorry. I must've hit my head really hard."

Elle smiles. "You sure did."

"What can I do? I mean, what do you guys need? I can get you anything you want," she offers.

"You told us you couldn't speak english very well," Sylar says, tilting his head curiously.

"I did? Are you sure... I wasn't out of it? Had I already hit my head?" she lies.

A smile starts to form on Sylar's face, and he places his hands on the counter. "I know you know. Tell me... Why did you lie to us?"

She sits down and looks at her computer, ignoring his question.

"Where did you say you two were heading?"

A bead of sweat rolls down her cheek.

"New York," Elle says, walking to the other side of her desk.

Sylar looks at her peeling name-tag and smirks. "Tell me... Maria? Why are you keeping secrets from us?"

She looks up at him and gives him an obviously fake smile. "What're you talking about?"

Elle turns her back to the woman and puts her mouth up to Sylar's ear. "Leave her alone. Let's just get the tickets and go home."

Sylar rolls his eyes and takes Elle's shaking hand. "Can we just have two tickets to New York? The soonest flight you can get."

She nods her head and starts looking for available flights. "Are you two married? Or just dating?"

Sylar smiles. Small talk. I hate it when people use small talk.

"We're only dating." Elle smiles and looks up at him.

"That's so sweet. What're your names?"

"I'm Elle Bishop. This is--"

"Gabriel. Gabriel Gray." He frowns.

"Beautiful names. Oh! There's a flight available for... 3:00 this afternoon. Is that okay?"

"Fine," Sylar groans.

If It Kills Me

Many things could kill me right now... My love for Zach, my love for this song, my love for life...

You know what else I love? Garlic.

Shades of Gray (Part Three)

Sylar and Elle leave the motel, and she calls her father as they walk down the street.

"Yes, daddy..." she says quietly. As their conversation goes on, Elle starts to get annoyed. Sylar laughs to himself as her face goes from a smile to a frown. She hangs up and doesn't say anything.

"Is something wrong?" he asks, smiling.

"That's none of your business, okay?"

Sylar smiles even wider, aware that he's just upset her even more. He kicks at the rocks lying along the road, until Elle throws out her arm to stop him. He looks up to see Noah Bennet standing at the end of the street. Elle holds out her arms and starts marching toward him.

"Elle, don't," Sylar insists.

She ignores him and picks up speed, until Sylar realizes he has to follow her and protect her from her old partner.

"Elle!" he yells, now jogging down the dirt road.

She begins charging electricity in the palms of her hands. "Bennet?" she yells, "Are you here to spy on us?"

He pulls out a gun, signaling her to turn around and mind her business. She runs after him, screaming, and Sylar catches up and grabs her shoulder. She turns to him, still yelling at Noah. Instead of forcing Elle to turn around and forget Noah was ever there, Sylar leans in and kisses her. She goes quiet and Noah lowers his gun.

"Let's get out of here. Forget about your father. Forget about Bennet," Sylar begs her.

She looks back at Noah, who is quietly walking away, gun still in his hand.

She looks up at Sylar, who is now frowning. "Why did you do that?"

He grabs her arm and they continue walking, but in a different direction. Elle doesn't bother asking where they're going, because she knows all she'll get is either a grunt or a raised eyebrow. What was it with his eyebrows, anyway? Couldn't he get them waxed every once in a while?

"We're going to the airport," he smirks.

She sighs and smiles as Sylar looked at her curiously.

"You're okay with that? I thought you'd be angry."

She laughs. "Are you kidding? I want to get out of this freaking country!"

Tired

I'm tired! I dunno why. I got plenty of sleep. But I'm so tired... I haven't gotten out of bed yet. IT'S ALMOST 12:30!

Shades of Gray (Part Two)

Night goes by slowly, as Sylar listens to the tiny insects clicking across the floor. Elle falls asleep almost instantly, but curls up next to Sylar without knowing. He thinks of pushing her away, but decides not to, knowing that she'll wake up and start talking again.

He finally dozes off, and wakes up to find Elle's arm wrapped around his chest. He throws her arm off of himself and sits up.

"What're you doing?" she hisses, sitting up.

He ignores her and walks to the bathroom, slamming the door behind him. Elle gets up and throws on a grubby sweatshirt, knocking some of Sylar's things off the dresser. "Whoops.

Sylar, being able to hear everything walks back out and grits his teeth.

"What did you do?"

He glances at the floor, where his clothes are laying, and then over at Elle, who's getting dressed. He uses telekenisis to lift all of things back onto the dresser, and then pins Elle to the wall.

"Hey! Stop!" she yells. "Let me go! That hurts!"

He raises his eyebrow and tilts his head, pointing at her threateningly. "I know."

"I'm sorry, okay!" She closes her eyes. "It was an accident."

Sylar drops her and walks back into the bathroom, without saying a word. Elle stands up and dusts herself off, and zaps a picture off the wall out of anger.

Shades of Gray (Part One)

Sylar and Elle, two completely different- yet similar- people, very rarely get along. But when their relationship is put to the test in various assignments, they connect on a level neither can describe. Elle, a young, adventurous, flirty, and dangerous woman is willing to take many risks to impress her father. While Sylar, a dark, mysterious, and terribly evil man, only works for the company in order to covet the abilities of others. Recently, they were sent on an assignment as partners, and had to travel to a crowded city in Mexico.

"I don't understand why we can't just go to a hotel," says Sylar, who is covered in sweat and dirt.

"We don't have the money. Neither does the company," responds Elle, who is busy reading a map. "Why does this stupid map have to be in Spanish?"

Sylar rolls his eyes and sits on an old bench, despite Elle's insistence to keep moving.

"What're you doing? We need to get to the motel. It's only a few miles from here," Elle insists.

Sylar crosses his legs and smiles sarcastically up at Elle. "Well, darling. Why don't you just show me where we're heading?"

Elle sits down next to him and angrily folds up the map. She stares at the ground as Sylar picks up the map, which is sitting next to her. "I know where this is..." He laughs. "How could you not know where this is?"

"Shut up," she groans.

Sylar stands back up and grabs her by the hair, causing her to let out a little screech. She rips it back out of his hand and squints at him furiously, then stands up. "I hate you."

Sylar and Elle continue on to the motel, and decide to stop for a quick meal at a small taco shop. They sit and look at each other awkwardly, until their food arrives. Elle downs four tacos, and they keep walking.

"You have quite an appetite for such a small girl..." Sylar says as he watches her feet stir up the dirt.

"And you have quite a small appetite for such a large boy," Elle says sarcastically.

Sylar smiles and looks up. "You've got to be kidding."

"What?" She looks ahead. "Where are we?"

He throws the map to the ground and frowns. "This is our motel."

They walk in and get a room, and Elle requests only one bed, though Sylar yells at her not to. They go to the torn up and bug-infested room, and Elle throws herself onto the creaky bed. Sylar slowly walks in, watching the ants crawl up the peeling wallpaper.

"I can't stay here," he scowls.

Elle smiles and throws a pillow to the ground. "You know, I never saw you as being the kind of guy that's afraid of bugs."

He walks over, angrily and lays down as far away from Elle as he can get. He kicks of his dirty shoes and closes his eyes without saying a word. Elle lays down smiling and looks curiously at the cracked ceiling...

Life Update

So... Life right now is great. Well, at the exact moment, I have this awful stomach ache that has been here for two days. But I've got great new music and great new videos with Zachary Quinto. Here are my TOP TEN SONGS:
1. If It Kills Me- Jason Mraz
2. America's Suitehearts- Fall Out Boy
3. Valerie- Mark Ronson feat. Amy Winehouse
4. Boys Boys Boys- Lady GaGa
5. No Such Thing- John Mayer
6. Waking Up in Vegas- Katy Perry
7. The Show- Lenka
8. Alfie- Lily Allen
9. Funny the Way it Is- Dave Matthews Band
10. Irvine- Kelly Clarkson

Other songs I've been listening to often include Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads, LoveGame by Lady GaGa, Don't Trust Me by 3OH!3, I Wanna Be Sedated by the Ramones, and You Know I'm No Good by Amy Winehouse.

There was my music update. Now for my "everything else" update. Let's see... Last I checked, I'm still deeply in love with Zach Quinto, I've seen every episode but one of Heroes (Season 3, episode 20), and cannot stop singing "Psycho Killer".

My mom hates Kristen Bell, and I think she's gorgeous and very talented. I thought she was fantastic on Heroes! But everyone is entitled to their own opinion, right? I read this story on "Zachary Quinto and Kristen Bell" online, and it was almost unbearable! It was so graphic they had to rate it NC-17. EW! But, strangely, I enjoyed a lot of it.
